How does an Intro PR Package work?

The Story

We find your unique story. We talk to you. We ask a few questions. We write your story. We send it to you for approval. You make a few tweaks and there you have it. A story with an angle that’s totally individual to you and your business.

What does this involve?

  • A phone interview
  • A press release written by a professional journalist
  • Where relevant, another version of the same story but tailored to a different audience
  • Final version sent to you for any amends and approval. This story belongs to you.
  • You’re free to add this to your website, blog or social media.

The Photos

We like words. We also like pictures. And sometimes even a video. If you don’t have photos that show what your story is all about, we get some. And yes, we only commission photographers that can get brilliant photos while socially distancing.

If you already have suitable photos, you can skip this step. It’s always good to check as we can know the kinds of images that work.

What does this involve?

  • A set of photos taken of you and/ or product depending on the relevancy of the story.
  • If appropriate, we can record a simple video clip to include as a part of the final press release.
  • Approval of all photos by you
  • As part of this service, you own these photos. While they’ll be used as a part of our pitch to journalists, you can add them to your website or use them to update your social media.

The Pitch

A story is good but it’s only going to help if people read it. We reach out to our network of media contacts and pitch your story to newspapers, magazines, websites, blogs or specialist publications - wherever the story fits best.

What does this involve?

  • Research to find the best news outlets for your story
  • Pitching your story to journalists, bloggers and influencers
  • Follow-up calls and emails to maximise coverage

The Report

We let you know what we’ve done and where you’ve been featured after we’ve pitched for coverage.

What does this involve?

  • A written update of PR coverage sent to you within one month of pitching.

This service is best suited to entrepreneurs, small businesses and charities that don’t have a press officer or communications department. You might already have a well established social media presence but you’re looking to reach and engage with a new audience.

It also works for bigger businesses that are finding it increasingly hard to designate the time it takes to write press releases, organise photoshoots and follow up on pitches.

Yes – you own your final press release and all the photos our photographer takes. This is why the Intro PR Package is such good value. Our clients have used their PR as a blog post, in email newsletters, as the basis of a video or a website update and as social media posts too. Not only do you get PR coverage but it’s a really easy way to generate lots of new content to help boost your own marketing activity.

You’ll only need to spend about and hour and a half of your time on the Intro PR Package – half an hour to chat on the phone to our journalist, half an hour for a photoshoot and another half an hour to check our press release and approve our photos before we send them to your chosen publications.

Typically after you’ve approved our final press release and have had your photos taken, it can take around a week before you see your story published in the local news. However, this can vary depending on publication deadlines.

To stand the best chance of press coverage you need a good story, a well written press release, high quality photos and know the right journalist to speak to. However, every news day is completely unpredictable – especially at the moment. All of our Intro PR Package clients have had the press coverage we expect, but it’s not something we can guarantee.
